INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES ABOUT THE NATIONAL VOLUNTEERING PROGRAM OF ICMBio IN FERNANDO DE NORONHA
VOLUNTEERING AT ICMBio NORONHA
The volunteer program is guided by Presidential Decree No. 4,519 of December 13, 2002, within the scope of the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), by Normative Instruction No. 03 of September 2, 2009.
Currently, 132 Brazilian operational units carry out a volunteer program. The Fernando de Noronha Marine National Park is one of them.
The ICMBio Volunteer Program aims to promote society's engagement in biodiversity conservation through voluntary action and public recognition of this contribution.
How to apply?
To apply to the ICMBio Noronha Volunteer Program, it is necessary to register in the Volunteer Program System. During registration, you can select the Units you are interested in working on and access open calls throughout Brazil.
How long does it last?
The Volunteer Program at ICMBio Noronha has a minimum duration of 3 (three) months.
How does it work?
The ICMBio Noronha Volunteer Program welcomes people from all over Brazil. Each participant will work mainly in a specific thematic area, according to their experiences and the profile presented. These areas are defined during the selection process and include visitation, scientific research, communication, among others. Despite this, it is worth remembering that the transition and participation in activities in other areas are extremely important and can happen several times during the program.
The workload is 40 hours per week spread over six days within a work schedule, with one day off per week. In addition, all volunteers dedicate a few hours to internal activities at the accommodation, such as lunch, kitchen organization, maintenance, cleaning, and event support.
